Possible Causes
Drive wheel motor overloaded by debris, Wheel encoder sensor contaminated, Wheel suspension jammed in lowered or raised position, Internal wheel motor failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Power the robot OFF before working on the wheels.
- Inspect wheel wells: Turn the robot upside down. Press each drive wheel up and down to ensure it moves freely in its suspension. Remove any debris, carpet fibers, or small objects wedged around the wheel arms.
- Clean wheel hubs: Rotate each wheel by hand. Use tweezers or small scissors to remove hair and threads wrapped around the wheel shafts.
- Check for uneven surfaces: If the error occurs only on thick rugs or thresholds, try moving the charging base and starting the robot on a thinner, more even surface.
- Reset and test: Power the robot back on and start a cleaning cycle in an open area. If the error appears immediately, the wheel motor or encoder sensor may be failing.
- Advanced (for experienced users): Remove the wheel module (following a service guide) and inspect the encoder disk and sensor for dust buildup. Clean gently with compressed air. If the wheel still stalls, replace the wheel module.
