Possible Causes
Dust in LDS bearing, Dry motor shaft, Slight misalignment of turret, Early LDS motor wear
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn OFF the robot before any work on the LDS.
- Clean exterior: Wipe the turret window and surrounding area with a dry cloth to remove dust.
- Monitor function: If the turret spins smoothly and navigation is normal, mild squeaking is usually not critical.
- Advanced (experienced users only): Disassemble the robot to access the LDS and apply a tiny amount of appropriate lubricant to the LDS bearing, avoiding the optics. Incorrect lubrication can damage the sensor.
- Replace LDS if needed: If noise worsens or navigation fails, replace the LDS module.
