Possible Causes

Hair and fibers wrapped around main brush ends, Debris jammed in main brush bearing blocks, Main brush motor overloaded or failing, Main brush gearbox clogged with dirt

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and remove it from the dock. Do not work on the brush while the robot is powered.

Remove and clean the main brush:

  • Open the main brush cover latch on the underside.
  • Lift out the main roller brush.
  • Use the included cleaning tool or scissors to cut away hair and threads from the bristles and especially from both ends of the brush.
  • Remove the end caps (if removable) and clean hair from the shafts and bearing seats.

Clean the brush cavity:

  • Vacuum or wipe out dust and debris from the brush housing and around the brush motor drive slot.
  • Check for foreign objects (toys, stones) lodged near the brush drive.

Reinstall and test:

  • Reinstall the brush and close the cover securely.
  • Power the robot ON and start a cleaning cycle. Listen for abnormal grinding or squealing from the brush area.

Advanced: If E5 returns quickly and the brush is clean, the main brush motor or gearbox may be worn. Replacing the main brush motor module usually requires removing the bottom cover and unscrewing the brush motor housing. If you are not comfortable with this, seek professional service.
