Possible Causes

Hair wrapped around side brush shaft, Side brush motor jammed by debris, Side brush hub cracked and slipping, Side brush motor wiring loose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Power OFF the robot and remove it from the dock.

Clean the side brush:

  • Turn the robot upside down and locate the side brush (one or two depending on model).
  • Remove the side brush screw and pull off the brush.
  • Remove hair and threads from the shaft and underside of the brush hub.
  • Inspect the hub for cracks; replace the brush if damaged.

Check the motor shaft:

  • With the brush removed, gently rotate the exposed motor shaft with your fingers. It should turn smoothly.
  • Remove any debris around the shaft opening.

Reinstall and test:

  • Reattach the side brush firmly and tighten the screw.
  • Power ON and start a cleaning cycle, watching the side brush for normal rotation.

Advanced: If the side brush still does not spin or E6 persists, the side brush motor module may need replacement. This involves opening the bottom cover and replacing the side brush motor assembly. Consider professional service if under warranty.
