Possible Causes
Dust bin not fully inserted, Dust bin detection switch stuck, Magnet or reed switch for bin detection misaligned, Filter not seated properly triggering safety interlock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and remove it from the dock.
Check dust bin installation:
- Remove the dust bin completely and inspect it for cracks or deformation.
- Reinsert the bin firmly until you hear or feel a click.
Inspect detection mechanism:
- Look for a small plastic tab or magnet on the dust bin that engages a switch or reed sensor inside the robot.
- Ensure the tab is not broken and the magnet (if present) is still attached.
- Use a soft brush to clean dust from the bin detection switch area.
Check filter seating:
- Remove and reinstall the filter(s) in the dust bin, ensuring they sit flush and the bin can close fully.
Reset and test:
- Power the robot ON and try starting a cleaning cycle.
Advanced: If E9 continues, the bin detection switch or reed sensor on the mainboard may be faulty. This requires disassembly and possible replacement of the sensor or mainboard by a technician.
