Possible Causes
Hair wrapped under side brush hub, Jammed side brush gearbox, Burned side brush motor, Loose side brush motor connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF before removing side brushes.
- 1. Remove side brushes: Unscrew or pull off the side brushes (depending on model). Clean hair and threads from the shafts and hubs.
- 2. Inspect motor posts: Check the motor shafts for corrosion or damage. They should rotate with some resistance but not be stuck.
- 3. Test without brushes: Power the robot ON and start a cleaning cycle with the brushes removed. Observe if the side brush motors spin freely.
- 4. Check wiring: If one side does not spin, remove the bottom cover and verify the side brush motor connector is firmly attached to the main PCB.
- 5. Replace motor module: If the motor does not spin or is noisy even without load, replace the affected side brush motor module.
