Robot shows E18; front caster wheel may be stuck or not rotating
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Hair and fibers wrapped around caster axle, Debris jammed in caster socket, Worn caster bearing, Bent caster shaft
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF and flip it over.
- 1. Remove caster wheel: Pull the front caster straight up to remove it from its socket (some models may require a small screwdriver to pry it out).
- 2. Clean axle: Remove hair and debris from the caster shaft and inside the socket using tweezers.
- 3. Check rotation: Spin the caster wheel by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding.
- 4. Reinstall: Push the caster back into the socket until it clicks and sits flush with the chassis.
- 5. Replace if worn: If the wheel is cracked, flat‑spotted, or still binds after cleaning, replace the caster wheel assembly.
