Possible Causes
Hair or thread wrapped around left wheel axle, Jammed left wheel gearbox, Failed left wheel DC motor, Disconnected left wheel motor cable on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF and remove it from the dock before working on the wheels.
- 1. Inspect left wheel: Flip the robot over on a soft surface. Manually rotate the left drive wheel. It should turn with some resistance but not be locked.
- 2. Remove debris: Use tweezers or small scissors to cut and pull out hair, threads, or carpet fibers wrapped around the wheel hub and axle. Check the wheel well for trapped objects (toys, stones).
- 3. Test movement: Turn the robot back on and start a cleaning cycle while holding it in the air. Observe if the left wheel spins freely.
- 4. Internal check (advanced): If the wheel still does not move, remove the bottom cover (several screws) and locate the left wheel module. Check that its connector is firmly seated on the main control board.
- 5. Replace module: If the wheel is free of debris but still stalls or makes grinding noises, the left wheel motor/gearbox module is likely defective and should be replaced as a complete assembly.
