Possible Causes
Clogged air duct or inlet, Full dustbin blocking airflow, Clogged primary filter or HEPA filter, Failing suction motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the robot OFF and disconnect from the dock.
- 1. Empty dustbin: Remove the dustbin and empty it completely. Tap it gently to dislodge compacted dust.
- 2. Clean filters: Remove the pre‑filter and HEPA filter from the dustbin. Tap them against a trash can to remove dust. If washable (check Rowenta manual), rinse with cold water and let them dry completely (at least 24 hours) before reinstalling.
- 3. Check air path: Inspect the suction inlet on the bottom of the robot and the channel leading to the dustbin for clogs (pet hair, paper, large debris). Remove any obstruction.
- 4. Test without filter: Briefly run the robot with the dustbin installed but without the HEPA filter to see if the motor runs normally. Do not use it this way for cleaning; this is only a short test.
- 5. Motor diagnosis: If E5 persists with a clean bin and filters, the suction motor or its driver circuit may be failing and the motor assembly should be replaced.
