Possible Causes
Defective SilverCrest charging dock power board, Broken spring contacts on dock, Corroded charging pads on robot, Failed charging circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the charging dock before cleaning contacts. Do not open the dock if you are not trained to work with mains voltage.
- 1. Verify dock power: Confirm the dock LED is lit when plugged in. If no light, test the outlet with another device. If the outlet is good, the dock may be faulty.
- 2. Clean contacts: With the dock unplugged, clean the metal contacts on the dock and the robot with a dry cloth or cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol. Remove any oxidation or debris.
- 3. Check robot alignment: Place the robot manually onto the dock, ensuring both charging pads touch the dock contacts. Look for the charging icon or LED. If the robot frequently misaligns, reposition the dock on a flat, hard surface.
- 4. Test dock output (advanced): Using a multimeter and with the dock plugged in, carefully measure DC voltage at the dock contacts (refer to the dock label for expected voltage, typically 19–24 V DC). If there is no output, replace the SilverCrest charging dock.
- 5. Suspect main PCB: If the dock outputs correct voltage but the robot still shows E03 and never indicates charging, the internal charging circuit on the main control board may be defective and requires replacement.
