Possible Causes
Dustbin not fully inserted, Dirty dustbin detection switch, Broken dustbin tab, Failed dustbin sensor on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the robot before removing the dustbin.
- 1. Reseat dustbin: Remove the SilverCrest dustbin and reinstall it firmly until it clicks. Ensure the lid is closed properly.
- 2. Clean sensor area: Look for a small switch or optical sensor where the dustbin slides in. Clean it with a dry cloth or compressed air.
- 3. Inspect dustbin tabs: Check that the plastic tabs or magnets on the dustbin that trigger the sensor are intact and not broken.
- 4. Test with light pressure: With the robot on, gently press the dustbin inward. If E16 disappears while pressing, the latch or sensor alignment is off and may need adjustment or replacement.
- 5. Replace parts: If the sensor never detects the bin, replace the SilverCrest dustbin and, if needed, the dustbin sensor or main PCB.
