Possible Causes
Worn main brush bearings, Debris in main brush gearbox, Damaged drive wheel gearbox, Loose screws on bottom plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and flip the robot onto a soft surface.
- 1. Isolate noise source: Run the SilverCrest robot upside down (carefully holding it) and listen whether the noise comes from the main brush area, wheels, or fan.
- 2. Service main brush: Remove the main brush and its end caps. Clean hair from bearings. If the bearings feel rough or the caps are melted, replace the main brush.
- 3. Check wheels: Spin each drive wheel by hand. Grinding or clicking indicates internal gearbox wear; replace the affected drive wheel module.
- 4. Tighten screws: Inspect and gently tighten the bottom cover screws and brush guard screws to eliminate rattles.
- 5. Fan noise: If the noise is from the fan area, the SilverCrest vacuum fan motor bearings may be worn and require replacement.
