Main Brush Motor Overload / Stall
Robot vacuum will not start cleaning and app shows E1 error

Possible Causes
Main brush jammed with hair or debris, Main brush bearings seized, Main brush motor failing, Main brush gearbox obstructed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the Trifo robot vacuum OFF using the power switch (if present) and remove it from the charging base. Do not work on the unit while it is charging.
- 1. Remove the main brush: Turn the robot upside down on a soft surface. Release the main brush cover latches and lift off the cover. Pull out the main brush.
- 2. Clear debris: Use the supplied cleaning tool or scissors to cut away hair, threads, and pet fur wrapped around the brush bristles and end caps. Make sure the brush ends spin freely.
- 3. Clean brush housing: Inspect the main brush cavity and the drive slot where the brush engages the motor. Remove any debris, sand, or compacted dust that could block rotation.
- 4. Check brush bearings: Remove the end caps from the brush (if removable) and clean hair from the shafts and bushings. If the end caps are melted, cracked, or do not spin freely, the brush assembly should be replaced.
- 5. Inspect main brush motor: Look into the drive side of the brush housing. Manually rotate the motor coupler with a small tool; it should turn smoothly with slight resistance. If it is stiff, noisy, or does not move, the main brush motor/gearbox module may be failing and should be replaced.
- 6. Reassemble and test: Reinstall the brush and cover, place the robot on a flat surface, power it ON, and start a cleaning cycle. If E1 persists after cleaning, the main brush motor assembly likely needs replacement.
Warning: Do not lubricate the brush motor or gearbox with oil; this can attract dust and cause further failure. If you smell burning or see smoke, stop using the robot and contact a professional technician or Trifo support.
