Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the robot and unplug the dock. Allow the robot to cool for at least 30 minutes before further inspection.
- 1. Check environment: Ensure the robot is not operating in direct sunlight, near heaters, or in rooms above 35°C (95°F).
- 2. Clean filters and vents: Remove and clean or replace the dust bin filters. Inspect all ventilation openings on the robot body and clear any dust buildup.
- 3. Reduce load: Remove the main brush and side brush, then run the robot briefly to see if E18 still occurs. If not, the brushes or fan may be overloading the system.
- 4. Inspect fan operation: Listen for the fan when the robot is running. If it is very loud, intermittent, or not running at all, the fan motor may be failing and causing heat buildup.
Warning: Persistent overheating can damage the battery and main PCB. If E18 recurs after cleaning and environmental adjustments, seek professional service to inspect the fan motor and internal temperature sensors.
