Possible Causes
Locked keypad function enabled, Stuck button due to dirt or damage, Faulty capacitive touch panel, Firmware freeze
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No mains wiring changes are needed; avoid opening the unit unless necessary.
Steps to check:
- Check child lock: Many Salus models have a keypad lock. Look for a lock icon. To unlock, press and hold the specified key combination (refer to the manual, often holding two buttons together for several seconds).
- Power-cycle: Remove power or batteries for 1–2 minutes, then restore. This can clear a frozen interface.
- Clean around buttons: Use a dry, soft brush to remove dust or debris around mechanical buttons. Do not use liquids.
- Test multiple keys: If only one area is unresponsive, the keypad or touch sensor in that region may be damaged.
Resolution: If the interface remains unresponsive after unlocking and power-cycling, replace the thermostat head.
