Possible Causes
Marginal RF range, Interference from other 868/433 MHz devices, Metal obstacles between thermostat and receiver, Low thermostat battery
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Only low-risk adjustments are needed; mains wiring changes should be done with power off.
Steps to check:
- Improve placement: Move the thermostat or receiver to reduce the number of walls and metal objects between them. Avoid mounting the receiver inside metal enclosures.
- Replace batteries: Fit fresh batteries in the thermostat to ensure strong RF transmission.
- Reduce interference: Keep the receiver away from Wi-Fi routers, cordless phone bases, and other RF devices. Change channels on nearby devices if possible.
- Re-pair devices: Clear and re-establish the RF link between thermostat and receiver following the Salus instructions.
Resolution: If intermittent communication persists at close range, replace the thermostat or receiver RF module.
