Underfloor heating zones controlled by Salus manifold controller do not heat, even though thermostat calls for heat.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power to the underfloor heating wiring centre and manifold before working on wiring or actuators.
Steps to check:
- Check wiring centre LEDs: On Salus underfloor wiring centres (e.g. KL08RF), verify that zone and boiler/pump LEDs light when the thermostat calls for heat.
- Inspect actuators: Ensure each thermal actuator is firmly screwed onto its manifold port and that its cable is securely connected to the correct zone output on the wiring centre.
- Feel actuators and pipes: After calling for heat, actuators should warm slightly and the corresponding manifold loop should begin to warm. If not, the actuator may be faulty.
- Check pump and valve: Confirm that the manifold pump and any mixing valve are powered and operating when zones call for heat.
Resolution: Replace failed thermal actuators and repair any wiring faults. If the wiring centre does not energize outputs despite correct signals, replace the Salus underfloor controller.
