Possible Causes
Partially damaged NTC sensor, Short between sensor tracks on PCB, Corrosion from condensation, Firmware calibration error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: The thermostat is low voltage, but do not expose internal electronics to moisture or static discharge.
- Check environment: Move any portable heaters or lamps away from the thermostat. Avoid mounting above radiators or in direct sunlight.
- Reboot and update: Remove and refit the thermostat or batteries. In the Wiser app, check for firmware updates and apply them.
- Compare with another thermometer: Place a reliable thermometer next to the thermostat and compare readings. If the thermostat is consistently far off and E06 appears, the sensor is likely faulty.
- Factory reset: Perform a factory reset via the app or thermostat menu. Reconfigure and observe if E06 returns.
- Replace thermostat: If the error persists, replace the Wiser Room Thermostat as the internal sensor is not user-repairable.
