Wiser
Pairing / Commissioning Failure
Thermostat shows E09 and cannot join the Wiser system after a reset

Possible Causes
Thermostat already bound to another Heat Hub, Incompatible firmware versions, Corrupted pairing data, Excessive number of devices on network
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No mains work is required for this procedure.
- Remove old pairing: In the Wiser app, delete the thermostat from the device list. If you no longer have access to the old system, perform a hard reset on the thermostat (refer to manual).
- Reset Heat Hub pairing mode: Press and hold the pairing button on the Heat Hub until the LED indicates pairing mode (see Wiser documentation).
- Factory reset thermostat: Use the reset pinhole or button sequence to restore factory settings. This clears previous bindings.
- Re-add via app: Use the Wiser app to add a new room thermostat and follow the on-screen instructions. Keep the thermostat within a few metres of the Heat Hub during pairing.
- Update firmware: Once paired, check for firmware updates for both the Heat Hub and thermostat. If E09 persists, contact Wiser support as the device may be locked or defective.
