Possible Causes
Closed or faulty water tap, Blocked inlet mesh filter, Failed AEG inlet valve coil, Faulty pressure switch not registering water level
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power and close the water tap before removing hoses.
- Verify tap and pressure: Open the water tap fully. Disconnect the hose from the machine and briefly open the tap into a bucket to confirm strong flow.
- Clean filters: Remove and clean the mesh filters in the inlet valve and at the hose ends. Remove limescale with vinegar if needed.
- Check valve operation: With the back panel removed (power off), inspect the AEG inlet valve for signs of burning or cracking. Measure coil resistance; replace the valve if coils are open or shorted.
- Inspect pressure switch hose: Ensure the small hose from the tub/air trap to the pressure switch is firmly attached and not blocked. Clean the air trap if full of sludge.
If the machine fills physically but still shows E11, the pressure switch or main PCB may be faulty and professional diagnosis is recommended.
