Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and turn off the water supply. Expect water in the base; protect the floor.
- Check for visible leaks: Remove the lower kick panel and rear panel. Look for water trails around the door seal, sump hose, drain pump, and heater flange.
- Empty base tray: Carefully tilt the machine slightly backward and side-to-side to drain water from the base tray onto towels. This may temporarily clear E13 but does not fix the leak source.
- Inspect door seal: Examine the AEG door gasket for tears, holes, or mold damage. Replace if damaged.
- Check hoses and clamps: Inspect the large black sump hose from tub to pump, and the drain hose to the standpipe. Tighten clamps and replace any hose with cracks or bulges.
- Inspect pumps and heater area: Look for drips from the drain pump body, circulation pump (if fitted), and around the heater seal. Replace leaking components and seals.
After repairs, dry the base completely and run a short cycle while observing for new leaks. If the leak source is not obvious, contact an AEG service technician.
