Possible Causes
Water in base tray activating float switch, Leaking door seal, Loose hose connection, Cracked tub or sump, Leaking detergent dispenser or inlet hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and close the water tap. Be prepared for water when tilting the unit.
- Drain base tray: Carefully tilt the machine forward or sideways to allow water to escape from the base. Use towels to soak up water.
- Locate leak source: Remove side or rear panels and run a short fill cycle while observing. Look for drips from the door seal, dispenser drawer, inlet hose, sump hose, pump, or tub seams.
- Tighten and reseal: Tighten hose clamps, reseat hoses, and replace any cracked hoses. Clean and reseal the dispenser to tub connection if leaking.
- Replace damaged parts: If the door gasket is torn or the sump hose is perished, replace with genuine AEG parts.
Do not bypass the float switch; it is a critical safety device. If the tub or cabinet is cracked, professional assessment is recommended.
