Possible Causes

Blocked pressure chamber/air trap, Split or detached pressure hose, Faulty AEG pressure sensor, Wiring issue between sensor and PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect mains power before removing the top cover.

  • Access pressure system: Remove the top panel to locate the pressure sensor (small round device with a thin hose attached).
  • Inspect hose: Check the hose for splits, kinks, or disconnection at either end. Replace if damaged and ensure tight fit.
  • Clean air trap: At the side or bottom of the tub, locate the air trap where the hose connects. Remove and clean out sludge and detergent buildup that can block air flow.
  • Test sensor: With a multimeter, check the sensor according to AEG specifications (resistance or voltage change when gently blowing into the hose). Replace the pressure sensor if readings are out of range.

If wiring and sensor are good but E31 persists, the main control board may be misreading the signal and should be checked by a technician.
