Possible Causes
Shorted motor winding, Shorted motor connector, Failed triac on main PCB, Wiring short between PCB and motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance. Motor circuits carry high current.
- Inspect motor and harness: Check for burnt smell, discoloration, or melted insulation on the motor and wiring.
- Test motor windings: Use a multimeter to measure resistance between motor terminals and to earth. Very low resistance or continuity to earth indicates a shorted motor that must be replaced.
- Check connector: Ensure the motor plug is clean and not carbonized. Replace if damaged.
- PCB replacement: If the motor tests good, the triac on the AEG control board is likely shorted and the board should be replaced by a professional.
