Possible Causes
Faulty tachometer coil on motor, Loose tachometer magnet, Broken wires in motor harness, Faulty PCB tachometer input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the rear panel.
- Access motor: Remove the drive belt and motor from the tub.
- Inspect tachometer: At the rear of the motor, check the tachometer coil and magnet. Ensure the magnet is firmly attached and not cracked.
- Measure tachometer coil: Use a multimeter to check resistance across the tachometer terminals. An open circuit indicates failure; replace the motor or tachometer assembly if separately available.
- Check harness: Inspect the wiring from motor to PCB for breaks or loose pins.
If the tachometer and wiring are good, the control board may not be reading the signal correctly and may need replacement.
