Possible Causes
Failed wash heater element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Open thermal cut-out, Wiring fault to heater, Faulty heater relay on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance. Heating components can retain heat; allow to cool.
- Check wash heater: Access the heater at the front or rear of the tub. Measure resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed AEG heater that must be replaced.
- Inspect NTC sensor: The NTC is usually mounted in or near the heater. Measure its resistance at room temperature and compare to AEG specifications. Replace if out of range.
- Check wiring and connectors: Ensure all heater and sensor connectors are tight and free of corrosion.
- Run a test cycle: After replacement, run a 60°C wash and verify that the door glass warms up slightly after 20–30 minutes.
If the heater circuit is intact but E60 persists, the control board heater relay or triac may be faulty and require professional replacement.
