Possible Causes
Partially failed heater (high resistance), Scaled-up heater reducing efficiency, Faulty NTC sensor reading too high, Low supply voltage, Control board miscalculation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before testing components.
- Descale heater: If limescale is heavy in your area, remove the AEG heater and descale or replace it. Thick scale insulates the element.
- Test heater resistance: Compare measured resistance to the rated wattage. Significant deviation suggests replacement.
- Check NTC: Verify that the NTC resistance changes smoothly with temperature. Replace if readings are erratic.
If components test correctly, a firmware or PCB issue may be present and should be evaluated by an AEG technician.
