How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and turn off the water supply before inspection.
- Inspect door seal: Open the door and carefully examine the entire circumference of the rubber bellow. Look for cuts, holes, or heavy mold damage.
- Remove foreign objects: Check the fold of the seal for coins, bra wires, or debris that can distort the seal. Remove any objects.
- Check clamps: Gently pull the seal where it meets the cabinet and drum. If loose, refit or tighten the metal retaining bands.
- Replace seal if damaged: Remove the outer and inner retaining bands, pull off the old seal, and fit a new genuine AEG door gasket, aligning the drain holes at the bottom. Refit bands securely.
- Use correct detergent dose: Reduce detergent quantity if excessive foam is observed, and use HE detergent suitable for washer-dryers.
