Possible Causes

Blocked drain pump filter, Obstructed drain hose, Faulty drain pump motor, Foreign object in pump impeller

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Water may spill when opening the filter—keep towels and a shallow tray ready.

  • Access pump filter: Open the lower front access flap (if fitted). Place a tray under the filter cap.
  • Clean filter: Slowly unscrew the filter cap to let water drain gradually. Remove the filter and clear out coins, hairpins, lint, or other debris. Check inside the pump housing for obstructions.
  • Check impeller: Gently rotate the pump impeller with your finger. It should turn with slight resistance but not be jammed or wobbly.
  • Inspect drain hose: Check the drain hose at the rear for kinks or blockages. Detach from the standpipe or sink trap and flush through with water if necessary.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the filter securely, close the flap, reconnect power, and run a drain/spin program. If E03 persists and you hear no pump noise, the drain pump motor is likely faulty and should be replaced with a compatible Bush drain pump.
