Possible Causes
Blocked pressure chamber or pressure hose, Faulty water level pressure switch, Stuck water inlet valve, Blocked air trap on tub
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off the water supply. Do not continue using the machine if it is overfilling or leaking.
- Check detergent use: Ensure you are using HE (low-suds) detergent and not exceeding the recommended dose. Excess suds can confuse the pressure system.
- Inspect pressure hose: Remove the top cover (usually two screws at the back). Locate the small rubber or plastic hose running from the tub air chamber to the pressure switch. Check for kinks, splits, or blockages.
- Clear air trap: At the side of the tub, locate the air chamber/air trap where the pressure hose connects. If accessible, remove and rinse it to clear soap scum and lint.
- Check pressure switch: Inspect the pressure switch for loose connectors or signs of damage. Reseat the wiring plug.
- Test fill: Reassemble, restore power, and run a short cycle. If the machine still overfills or E04 returns, the pressure switch or inlet valve may be faulty. Replace the faulty component with a Bush-compatible water level pressure switch or inlet valve as indicated by testing.
