Possible Causes

Leak from door seal, Leak from hoses or pump, Cracked tub or sump hose, Activated base tray float switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off the water supply. Do not tip the machine without securing the drum.

  • Check for visible leaks: Look around the door, detergent drawer, and under the front edge for signs of water.
  • Inspect base tray: Carefully pull the machine forward and tilt it slightly backwards (with assistance) to see if water runs out from the base. Place towels to catch any water.
  • Dry the base: If water is present in the base tray, it will have triggered the float switch. Mop up all water and allow the base to dry completely.
  • Find the source: Remove the rear panel and inspect the sump hose, drain pump, and hose clamps for drips or mineral trails. Check the door seal for tears or splits.
  • Repair leak: Tighten hose clamps, replace damaged hoses or door seal with Bush-compatible parts. Once the leak is fixed and the base is dry, reconnect power and test. If E13 returns without visible leaks, the float switch or wiring may be faulty and require replacement.
