How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Do not force the door open with tools as this can damage the cabinet and glass.

Check for mechanical obstruction: Ensure no clothing is trapped in the door area. Gently press the door while trying to lock/unlock (with power on) to see if alignment is an issue.
Emergency opening: Many Bush models have an emergency door release near the pump filter. Open the lower flap and pull the plastic tab or cord to release the door.
Inspect door catch and handle: Check for cracks or broken springs. Replace the door handle/catch assembly if damaged.
Check door lock: Access the door interlock by removing the door seal retaining band and pulling back the seal. Inspect the lock for burning or loose connectors.
Replace as needed: If the lock is not engaging or releasing reliably, replace the door interlock assembly with a Bush-compatible part.
