Washer-dryer makes a scraping or metallic rubbing noise when the drum turns.

Safety first: Unplug the appliance before reaching into the drum or removing parts.

• Inspect drum holes: Run your fingers gently around the inside of the drum to feel for protruding objects.
• Check door seal gap: Look between the drum and seal for trapped items and carefully remove them with pliers.
• Remove drum lifter: If the noise seems to come from a specific area, remove the plastic drum paddle (if removable) and inspect underneath for trapped objects.
• Further access: If the object cannot be retrieved from the front, it may require removing the heater element or sump hose to access the space between drum and tub.
