Possible Causes
Faulty Start/Pause button, Stuck child lock function, Defective control panel PCB, Loose wiring between UI and main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before removing the control panel.
- Check child lock: Many Bush models have a child lock that disables buttons. Look for a key or padlock symbol and hold the indicated buttons (often 3–5 seconds) to toggle the lock.
- Door and program check: Ensure the door is fully closed and a valid program and options are selected.
- Reset power: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect and try again.
- Inspect control panel: Remove the control fascia and check the ribbon cable from the UI board to the main PCB. Reseat connectors.
- Replace UI board: If the Start button feels unresponsive or other buttons also fail intermittently, the control panel PCB may need replacement with a Bush-compatible user interface board.
