Possible Causes
Blocked pressure sensor hose, Faulty water level (pressure) switch, Stuck water inlet valve, Wiring fault between pressure switch and PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off the water supply taps. If the drum is overfilled, manually drain via the pump filter before proceeding.
- Step 1 – Check for continuous filling: With the machine unplugged and water taps turned on briefly, observe if water continues to enter. If so, the inlet valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
- Step 2 – Inspect pressure hose: Remove the top cover. Locate the round pressure switch (usually mounted on the side wall) with a thin rubber hose going down to the tub. Check the hose for splits, kinks, or disconnections.
- Step 3 – Clear blockages: Detach the hose from the pressure switch and gently blow through it toward the tub to clear soap residue or lint. Reattach securely.
- Step 4 – Electrical check (competent persons): With power still disconnected, inspect the wiring harness from the pressure switch to the main PCB for loose connectors or damage.
- Step 5 – Replace pressure switch: If E04 persists and the hose is clear, replace the water level pressure switch with a Caple-compatible part. Transfer the wiring one by one to the new switch to avoid misconnection.
- Step 6 – Test: Refit the top cover, restore water and power, and run a short wash. Monitor the fill level; it should stop below the door glass.
- Step 7 – If unresolved: A faulty main control board may be misreading the level signal. Contact a Caple-authorized technician.
