Possible Causes

Failed wash heating element, Open or shorted NTC temperature sensor, Loose or burnt wiring at heater terminals, Faulty main control board heater relay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the Caple washer-dryer and allow it to cool before accessing internal components. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.

  • Step 1 – Confirm symptom: Run a 60°C cotton cycle and check after 20–30 minutes if the door glass feels warm. If not, and E05 appears, suspect the heating circuit.
  • Step 2 – Access heater: Remove the rear panel (or front lower panel on some models) to locate the wash heating element mounted in the bottom of the tub.
  • Step 3 – Inspect wiring: Check for burnt connectors or loose spade terminals on the heater and NTC sensor. Reseat or replace damaged connectors.
  • Step 4 – Test heater resistance: Using a multimeter on ohms, measure across the heater terminals. A typical value is 20–30 Ω. Infinite resistance indicates a failed element.
  • Step 5 – Test NTC sensor: Measure the resistance of the NTC at room temperature (often 20–30 kΩ). If it reads open or short, replace it.
  • Step 6 – Replace heater (advanced): Loosen the central nut on the heater clamp, gently push the bolt inward to release the seal, and pull the heater out. Clean the mounting area and fit a new Caple-compatible heating element, ensuring the gasket seats evenly. Tighten the nut carefully—do not overtighten.
  • Step 7 – Reassemble and test: Refit panels, restore power, and run a hot wash to confirm heating and that E05 no longer appears. If the error persists, the main PCB heater relay may be faulty and requires professional service.
