Possible Causes
Worn or broken drive belt, Faulty motor carbon brushes (on brushed motors), Open or shorted motor windings, Defective motor control circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the rear panel. Avoid touching sharp metal edges.
- Step 1 – Check drum movement: With the machine off, open the door and rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly without grinding or binding.
- Step 2 – Inspect drive belt: Remove the rear panel and check if the belt is still on the motor pulley and drum pulley. If it has slipped off or snapped, replace it with a Caple-compatible belt.
- Step 3 – Check belt tension and alignment: Ensure the new belt sits centrally on both pulleys and has firm tension. A loose belt can cause E06 during spin.
- Step 4 – Inspect motor connections: Verify that the motor plug is fully seated and that there are no burnt or damaged wires.
- Step 5 – Carbon brush check (if applicable): On brushed motors, remove the motor and inspect the carbon brushes. If they are worn below ~1 cm, replace both with matching Caple-compatible brushes.
- Step 6 – Test run: Reassemble, plug in, and run a spin-only cycle. If the drum still does not turn and E06 reappears, the motor windings or control board may be faulty.
- Step 7 – Advanced diagnosis: Motor winding resistance and PCB triac/IGBT checks should be performed by a qualified technician due to shock risk.
