Possible Causes
Faulty motor tachometer sensor, Loose tachometer magnet on motor shaft, Damaged wiring between motor and PCB, Defective motor control circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains before accessing the motor. Capacitors on the PCB may retain charge.
- Step 1 – Check load and balance: Ensure the drum is not overloaded or with a single heavy item (e.g. a bath mat). Unbalanced loads can trigger spin faults. Redistribute laundry and retry.
- Step 2 – Access motor: Remove the rear panel and locate the drive motor at the bottom of the tub.
- Step 3 – Inspect tachometer: On the rear of the motor, locate the tachometer coil and magnet. Check that the magnet ring is intact and firmly attached to the shaft. If cracked or loose, the motor may need replacement.
- Step 4 – Check wiring: Inspect the motor harness for chafing or broken conductors. Reseat the connector at both the motor and PCB ends if accessible.
- Step 5 – Electrical test (competent persons): Measure resistance of the tachometer coil (typically a few hundred ohms). An open circuit indicates a failed tachometer.
- Step 6 – Replace motor or tachometer: If the tachometer is not separately replaceable on your Caple model, replace the complete motor assembly with a compatible part.
- Step 7 – If E07 persists: The motor control stage on the main PCB may be defective. Professional board-level diagnosis is recommended.
