Possible Causes
Loose connection between user interface board and main PCB, Faulty control panel PCB, Moisture ingress into control fascia, Damaged wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the top cover or control panel. Avoid static discharge to electronic boards.
- Step 1 – Power reset: Disconnect power for 10 minutes to allow the electronics to fully discharge. Reconnect and test the controls.
- Step 2 – Inspect control fascia: Check for signs of moisture or detergent spills around the control knobs and buttons. Dry the area thoroughly with a soft cloth.
- Step 3 – Access control boards: Remove the top cover and, if necessary, the control panel screws to access the user interface PCB and its wiring harness.
- Step 4 – Check connections: Reseat the ribbon cable or connectors between the user interface and main PCB. Look for bent pins or corrosion.
- Step 5 – Visual inspection: Examine the boards for burnt components or cracked solder joints.
- Step 6 – Replace faulty UI board: If the display or buttons remain unresponsive and E14 persists, replace the user interface PCB with a Caple-compatible part, transferring any knobs or fascia as required.
- Step 7 – If still faulty: The main PCB may have a communication fault and should be checked by a professional.
