Possible Causes
Excessively unbalanced laundry load, Worn suspension shock absorbers, Broken or detached tub springs, Faulty imbalance detection on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before inspecting internal suspension components.
- Step 1 – Redistribute load: Open the door and redistribute laundry evenly around the drum. Remove heavy single items and try again with a smaller, mixed load.
- Step 2 – Check machine level: Ensure the Caple washer-dryer is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Adjust the feet and lock nuts as needed.
- Step 3 – Inspect suspension: Remove the rear panel and gently push down on the drum. It should move smoothly and return without excessive bouncing. Check shock absorbers for oil leaks or broken mounts.
- Step 4 – Check springs: From the top or rear, inspect the tub suspension springs for stretching or breakage.
- Step 5 – Replace worn parts: Replace faulty shock absorbers or springs with Caple-compatible suspension components.
- Step 6 – Test spin: Run a spin-only cycle with a small, balanced load to confirm that E17 no longer appears.
