How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and verify the wall socket with another device. Internal live parts can be lethal; only competent persons should open the machine.
- Step 1 – Check external factors: Confirm the circuit breaker or RCD has not tripped. Try a different socket.
- Step 2 – Inspect mains cable: Look for cuts, crushing, or burn marks on the power cord. Replace if damaged.
- Step 3 – Access mains filter: Remove the rear panel and locate the mains filter where the power cord enters. Check for burnt components or loose terminals.
- Step 4 – Internal fuse (competent persons): On some Caple models, a fuse is mounted on the PCB or mains filter. Test and replace only with the exact same rating if blown, and investigate why it failed.
