Possible Causes
Torn or perished door gasket, Debris trapped between door seal and glass, Loose door gasket retaining band, Over-foaming from excess detergent
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off water supply before inspecting for leaks.
- Step 1 – Inspect door seal: Open the door and carefully examine the rubber gasket all around for tears, holes, or deformation.
- Step 2 – Clean seal: Wipe away lint, coins, or foreign objects trapped in the folds of the gasket. Check that the drain holes at the bottom of the seal are not blocked.
- Step 3 – Check retaining band: Ensure the outer metal or plastic band holding the gasket to the front panel is secure and not displaced.
- Step 4 – Detergent usage: If you see excessive suds, reduce detergent quantity and use HE (low-foam) detergent suitable for washer-dryers.
- Step 5 – Replace gasket: If the seal is damaged, remove the retaining bands, pull off the old gasket, and fit a new Caple-compatible door gasket, aligning the drain holes at the bottom. Refit bands securely.
