Possible Causes
Restricted exhaust vent, Dirty lint filter or internal lint buildup, Weak heating element or cycling thermostat issues
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before cleaning internal ducts or heater components.
Steps to improve drying:
- Clean lint filter: Remove and clean the lint filter thoroughly. Wash if coated with residue.
- Check venting: For vented models, disconnect the vent hose and run a short dry cycle. If drying improves with the hose off, the house vent is restricted and must be cleaned.
- Internal lint removal: Remove rear or front panels and vacuum lint from the blower housing, heater housing, and ducts.
- Verify heater operation: During a dry cycle, check that the drum gets warm. If only lukewarm or cold, test the heating element and thermostats as described in heater errors.
After cleaning and any necessary repairs, test with a medium load to confirm normal dry times.
