Possible Causes
Load too small or too large, Items tangled causing imbalance, Worn suspension rods or dampers
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not open the door until the drum has fully stopped. Unplug before internal inspection.
Steps to correct:
- Redistribute load: Open the door and rearrange items evenly around the drum. Avoid washing a single heavy item alone.
- Remove excess items: If the drum is overfilled, remove some items and restart the spin cycle.
- Check leveling: Ensure the washer-dryer is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Adjust leveling feet and lock nuts as needed.
- Inspect suspension (advanced): Remove the top panel and gently press down on the drum. It should move smoothly and return to center. If it bounces excessively or clunks, the suspension rods/dampers may be worn and should be replaced.
Persistent 5C errors with normal loads often indicate suspension wear that requires part replacement.
