Frequent cold washes, Excess detergent use, Residual moisture in door gasket and dispenser
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use cleaning agents according to label instructions and ensure good ventilation.
Steps to eliminate odor:
- Run tub clean cycle: Use the built-in tub clean or sanitize cycle with a washer cleaner tablet specifically designed for front-load washers.
- Clean door gasket: Wipe the door boot gasket folds with a cloth soaked in a mild bleach solution or washer cleaner. Remove any visible mold or debris.
- Clean dispenser drawer: Remove the detergent dispenser drawer and soak in warm soapy water. Scrub away residue and reinstall.
- Leave door open: After each use, leave the door and dispenser drawer slightly open to allow the interior to dry.
Repeat cleaning monthly to prevent odors from returning.
