Possible Causes
Clogged inlet screens at water valves, Failed hot or cold water inlet valve, Low household water pressure, Kinked or pinched inlet hoses
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the GE Profile combo and turn off both hot and cold water supply valves before working on hoses or valves.
- Check water supply: Verify both hot and cold faucets are fully open and that household water pressure is normal. Try running a nearby sink to confirm strong flow.
- Inspect inlet hoses: Pull the unit forward carefully, ensuring you do not stress the drain hose or power cord. Check for kinks, sharp bends, or crushing in the hot and cold hoses. Straighten or replace as needed.
- Clean inlet screens: Turn off water, disconnect hoses from the rear water inlet valve assembly. Inside the valve ports, remove and rinse the small metal or plastic screens to clear sediment. Reinstall screens and reconnect hoses firmly.
- Test fill function: Restore water and power, then run a quick wash cycle. If E22 persists and fill is slow or absent on one temperature, the corresponding solenoid in the water inlet valve is likely faulty.
- Replace inlet valve if needed: If cleaning and hose checks do not resolve the issue, replace the complete water inlet valve assembly following the service manual. Shut off water, unplug unit, remove top or rear panel (model-dependent), label wires, swap valve, and test for leaks.
