Torn or worn door gasket, Debris trapped on gasket lip, Loose door gasket clamp, Misaligned door causing poor seal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and turn off water supply before inspecting for leaks.
- Inspect gasket: Open the door and carefully examine the entire circumference of the rubber door gasket for tears, holes, or deformation.
- Clean gasket: Wipe away lint, hair, and detergent residue from the gasket folds. Pay special attention to the bottom where debris collects.
- Check clamps: Verify that the inner and outer retaining clamps are secure and not dislodged.
- Replace gasket if damaged: If you find tears or permanent deformation, remove the retaining clamps, pull off the old gasket, and install a new door gasket (boot seal) specific to your GE Profile model. Ensure the drain holes at the bottom of the gasket are aligned correctly.
