Possible Causes
Defective door interlock switch, Broken or misaligned door latch hook, Wiring issue between door lock and main control board, Faulty main control board (PCB)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off the water supply before any work. Do not bypass the door lock for testing while the machine is connected to mains power.
- Check door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Ensure no laundry is trapped between the door seal and the door glass. The latch should click positively.
- Inspect door hook: Examine the plastic door hook on the door of your Grundig washer-dryer combo for cracks or wear. If it is loose or broken, it must be replaced.
- Test door lock: Remove the front retaining band of the door seal, gently pull back the seal, and access the door interlock. Check the connector is fully seated and not burnt. With power disconnected, use a multimeter to test continuity across the lock terminals when the door is closed (refer to the service diagram for pinout).
- Reseat wiring: Follow the wiring harness from the door lock to the main control board. Look for pinched, broken, or corroded wires and reseat the plug on the PCB.
- Replace faulty parts: If the interlock has no continuity or shows signs of heat damage, replace the door lock assembly with a compatible Grundig part. If the lock and wiring are good but E01 persists, the main control board may require replacement and programming by a qualified technician.
