Possible Causes

Clogged inlet filter screens, Defective water inlet valve, Low household water pressure, Wiring fault between inlet valve and control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance and close the water taps before disconnecting hoses.

  • Check water supply: Ensure both hot and cold taps (if applicable) are fully open and that household water pressure is adequate. Try another tap in the house to confirm pressure.
  • Clean inlet filters: Turn off taps, disconnect the inlet hose(s) from the back of the Grundig washer-dryer, and remove the small mesh filters inside the valve inlets. Rinse under running water and remove any limescale or debris.
  • Inspect hoses: Check for kinks, crushing, or frozen sections in the inlet hoses. Straighten or replace as needed.
  • Test inlet valve: With power disconnected, access the top of the machine, locate the water inlet valve assembly, and check the electrical connectors. Use a multimeter to measure coil resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed valve.
  • Replace valve if needed: If the valve coils are open or the valve is mechanically stuck, replace the complete water inlet valve assembly with a Grundig-compatible part. Reassemble, restore water and power, and test a fill cycle.
