Possible Causes
Intermittent door lock contacts, Damaged door lock wiring harness, Misaligned door catch, Control board door-sense input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any panels.
- Check door alignment: Inspect the door hinges and latch. If the door sags, adjust or tighten hinge screws so the latch engages squarely with the interlock.
- Test door lock operation: Start a cycle and listen for the lock engaging (click). If E08 appears and the door is not locked, the interlock may be faulty.
- Inspect wiring: Remove the front seal clamp and access the door lock. Check the wiring harness for broken conductors or loose connectors. Reseat the plug.
- Replace door lock: If the lock intermittently fails or shows poor continuity on a multimeter, replace the door lock assembly with a Grundig-compatible part.
- Control board diagnosis: If a new lock and good wiring do not resolve E08, the PCB input circuit may be defective and should be evaluated by a technician.
